about

the things we experience each and every day shape who we are... or we shape them to move throughout the world in such a way that we have changed them. what do i do with my time? experience.
life is not about accumulation, figuration and expiration -
it's about consultation, admiration, and inspiration.
i'm jamie. digital lead for lululemon lab by day - social activist/budding academic and creative force by night. after a large amount of time spent in acedemia, and a specifically tumultuous year in an international development post graduate degree, i needed a mental break from all the hypocrisy that was what i thought i loved, and felt like I hated. i started in toronto ON, and am now centered in Vancouver BC, canada. i'm a natural born transient, and have stayed true to that for many years - because of school, work, family, etc. i am not the easiest person to get along with - i'm stubborn, lack the ability to keep in touch, am argumentative, obnoxious, and abbrasive - so my close friends are the most patient and wonderful people ever. i'm lucky to have every single one of them in my life. it is on those amazing people who i spend the time, effort, and imagination that i believe it takes to be a true friend. they see the person who enjoys sending postcards from nowhere, giving presents when they are relevant, and giving a phone call when i'm just thinking of someone.
i'm a neo hippy - if it can be so - selectitarian, feminist, activist, and lover of all things creative. freddie mercury is my dream man, and if macdonalds created a vegan big mac, i would be first in line. i'm a failed extrovert, and i - like many people i'm sure - wish i had more money, if only to be able to have long phone conversations with the people i love. that, and to be able to afford to simply study for a living.
these are my ramblings - they are non-sensical, often inspired by my day-to-day life, and usually involve some sort of rant. there is rarely a rhyme or reason for the things i post, other than i enjoy writing, beautiful (handmade) things, and sharing with friends (both those i spend time with, and those in the online world, whom i've never met). for more about my inner workings, check out my '25' series.
