online stores

shop update!

hey dudes!
quick update. in my shop. i know. i know. it's been 18 million years, and i've neglected it immensley. but, i was also MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. so. pff. but you're right. i'm a disaster. it took me 3 days to upload photos. photos. c'mon jamie. get your life together.
but. anywho. i got it. me, and three $1 large mcdonalds drinks (summmmmmaaa!). and it's there.
i also have some hidden goodies that i just didn't have time to post yet, so you may see some sneaky peakys on here too!

(because i have no idea what has changed in blogger that i can't make the photo link to the site)

as usual, every piece is one-of-a-kind, and as such, once its gone, it's gone forever. so get it quick!
ok. that's all. for now. while i rest my eyes, and brain from all the photoshopping and uploading - you know how tiresome THAT can be.
(ohhhh, i have no life).

last chance!

hey dudes and dudettes.
just because i love you, and want to give you the inside scoop.
this week is the last week to get re:claim online, before the pop up shop, which is the last time to get re:claim goodies before my move!!
the lovely and beautiful ms. abby wearing her re:claim piece

so, find stuff online here, OR if you miss the online shop, then you can visit me at the rigorous mess pop-up shop on March 23rd and 24th!

all man things, all the time

i have SUCH man envy. when i was a little girl, i tried VERY hard to pee standing up (much to my parents dismay... they had to reign it in when i had peed all over myself at a family event) (to new readers: i have no shame). i like textures that are typically directed towards men in design - clean, fresh, sharp. i get squirmy around soft things (like fleece, and that gross weird feeling of those super soft socks that girls wear), but i love crisp cotton sheets, and the cool feeling of leather.
needless to say, when i stumbled onto kaufmann mercantile, i was in love. and when i realized it was primarily for men, i said, 'too bad gender roles! i'm coming for you and all of your manly things!' and then promptly chose all my faves.
they're beautiful. gotta catch them all.

some of my faves

to a new year for all of us

because it's a tradition. and because goals are what motivate us to be better people. and because this year is an important one to me, in my continued quest to better myself, and my lifestyle.
so what will i do this year, to better myself? commitments to myself, above all others, first and foremost:
1. i will ask people what their preferred way of communicating and staying in touch is. i hate the phone. i'm not good with skype. i'm horrendous with any form of speaking communication (except coffee/drink dates - i'm EXCEPTIONALLY good at those). i promised myself i would stop promising, and setting up phone dates with people, only to let them (and myself) down. this year, i'll communicate in a way that works best for both parties... email, text messaging, coffee dates, postcard, whatever.
2. i will commit to continuing my quest for creative time to myself. ideally, i'd like to finish up my overall website (lofty goals), but if all it means is getting photography done, and a solid lineup for my etsy store, i'll be happy!
3. 3 more stores in 2013. i am determined to do more in store sales this year.
4. write more for me - not necessarily for this blog, but for myself. i noticed by the end of this past year (2012) i was losing my steam. i am 98% positive that this was related to the energy spent on other people in the last parts of november and december... which isn't a bad thing. it just meant that i didn't spend the time on me that i needed. since i love writing, and it makes me calm, relaxed, and all the things i need to be more of, i commit to spending more time writing. even if it's just words that come to me on a tuesday afternoon, in my moleskine. just more words.
i'm keeping it lite this year - native shoes has inspired me.
and, because no one does it better, i'll take a cue (or 18) from nora ephron

i love love love jules leather.

through obsessing over whistler, i found this dope duo who kills it in the leather goods department. how could i NOT share?

love jules leather is a joint venture for jules vagelatos and josh blodans from whistler. in 2008, jules started making handcrafted leather shoes after an apprenticeship with a leathersmith in Dartmouth (after graduating from NSCAD). in 2012, josh joined her and they have been working on an evolving line of amazing leather goods ever since. based out of their studio in whistler, they focus on classic inspiration, but as with jules and josh, their goods have a bit of an edge. and, it’s exciting to hear that they’ve moved from not just shoes, but necklaces, belts, and collaborations for new stuff this season (hint: ties, bowties and suspenders).

(from them) "a little handcrafted leather shoe company here in town.  we live pretty charmed lives, creatively paying the rent in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  when we’re not skiing/ biking/ dog walkin’ we’re crafting custom kicks & other accessories… and we’ll sleep when we’re dead."
they're currently working on shoes, a collaboration with sitka. and, to be perfectly honest, anyone who also uses the term 'we'll sleep when we're dead' as often as i do, must be perfectly kick ass.
and my ABSOLUTE favourites....
hopefully next time i'm in whistler, i'll get to meet these two rad leather geniuses. until then, i'll keep sighing over their goodies (originally found via whistler is awesome).
shop their etsy store here //  check out their amazing website (with swear words!) here  //  follow them on twitter here  //  buy their goodies in person here  //  check them out on facebook here  //  and they have a blooooooog. here
ooooh!! guys, guys! jules has these belts on sale right now, to clear out their workshop... BUY SOME!
